Avas Antivirus Software is a free Antivirus and has a spyware component. I use this programme and it has been excellent. It will scan your whole PC before installation is complete and depending on your hard drive size may take several hours, so install only when you know you have the time. The beauty of this programme is that it scans all data in and out of the machine and quietly does it in the background. A verbal notification will tell you when the Virus database is up to date, no more clicking buttons to update the software database. The internet connection may be slightly slower until download is complete, well worth it rated as 4 cools out of 5

AVG AntiVirus Free
AVG antivirus is a free programme for home use as is Avast. Having used this in the past this Antispyware and Antivirus software is excellent as well 80,000,000 million users cant be wrong. I have used this to sort PC issues out where other commercial softwares have missed a Virus. well worth it and gets a 4 cools out of 5 as well
